Laying aside the possibility that images of her smiling probably wouldn’t be published in order to propagate the stereotype.

The paparazzi are rude, abrasive and when faced with these assholes most people shut down and avoid facial expressions. It’s necessary to keep their careers because when they do react, in any way shape or form, it’s published as headline news and distorted so the poor, guiltless “reporters” are the victims.

Anyways, I dislike the message in the Twilight books, but I did read them, and what I got from the characterization of Bella is that she’s difficult to read. Several times that’s mentioned and her vampire power wasbeing able to block intrusion into her head.

It was part of Kristen Stewart’s job to portray her that way.

I just have to completely disagree with you about Jennifer Lawrence. On the topic of size, she wasn’t seeking to hate on skinny people. She was criticizing the necessity for actresses to be extremely skinny, and saying that she doesn’t mind being bigger than them. I think that that’s very brave, because in her industry size can make a lot of decisions in whether or not you get a role.

The hair dye was not stupid, it was a costume, and the difference between black and brown hair is completely trivial. Her race having not determined whether or not she got the role is a good thing. Her acting qualified her, not her skin tone and hair color.

I don’t think saying you looked “dykey” because you were a jock is horribly offensive, but I can see how it might be construed that way. I think it was just a self-deprecatingly humorous comment, and that manner of speaking is a big reason people love her. She’s funny that way.

And as for there not being a difference between sexy and slutty? If you honestly believe that, I feel BAD for you. There is an ENORMOUS difference between sexy and slutty: it’s called class. You are not a slut because you have sex appeal. Sex appeal can be a great mix of attitude, and confidence and personality. Sluttiness is looseness and a lack of self respect. And the fact that you said they’re the same actually made me angry.

Honestly, a lot of what you said about Jennifer sounded like you were predisposed to dislike her, and instead of listening to what she was saying, you looked at the way she said it, or in the last matter just didn’t understand the concept.
